Gsertel will supply equipment for the development of DTT in Colombia
Gsertel has won a call for tender for supplying DVB-T/T2 monitoring equipment to support the implementation of Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) in Colombia.
Santiago de Compostela, may 22th 2017. Gsertel, a Televes Corporation company, has won a call for tender for supplying DVB-T/T2 monitoring equipment under a plan to support the implementation of Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) in Colombia.
The financing for this project, whose beneficiary is the Autoridad Nacional de Televisión de la República de Colombia (ANTV), comes from the European Union, throug an agreement to upgrade the DTT infraestructure in the Latin American country.
The contract includes the installation of several RCS equipments placed in 22 cities in the country an allows, through a control centre, a complete and real-time monitoring of the signal that the users receive, including critical parameters such as the spectrum, the impulse response, the DVB-T2 signal quality and the DVB frame content monitoring.
The continuous supervision of the signal will allow the ANTV to deploy its value-added and greater-quality services to its users, regardless of their location in the country, as wall as significantly reduce the response time to incidents.
The achievement of this contract will allow Gsertel to increase its presence in Latin America, since its monitoring tecnology is compatible with both DVB-T/T2 standard, used in Colombia, and ISDB-T/Tb standard, implemented in most countries of the region.
