Dr. Santiago Otero, Gsertel 5G Technical Manager
Speaking with Dr. Santiago Otero, 5G Technical Manager at Gsertel.

At Gsertel, we firmly believe that behind every great innovation are talented, dedicated, and passionate people who go above and beyond the technical aspects. We believe that companies are not just built on technology, but on teams that work together, push boundaries, and share a common vision. That’s why today, we want to introduce you to one of the people who make the Hexylon Gamma possible: Dr. Santiago Otero, our 5G Technical Manager, with whom you can chat at MWC.
What makes Hexylon Gamma unique for field technicians?
The key and differentiating feature of Gamma is that it offers both active and passive measurements in one compact, portable device. You can perform passive analyses without using a SIM to register on the network, while simultaneously using multiple SIMs to conduct speed tests and make calls with different operators. Combining both measurement types allows for diagnosing far more issues than a traditional tool that only supports either passive or active modes.
Why retain the original form factor and menus of the Hexylon?
The compact design, touchscreen, gesture support, and menus of the Hexylon are highly valued by our customers, who are accustomed to using tablets and mobile devices. That’s why we decided to keep them unchanged.
How was the transition from broadcast products to a device dedicated solely to mobile networks?
Moving from the broadcast world—where Gsertel has a proven track record—to mobile communications was undoubtedly a challenge. Gsertel was the first company within the Televes Corporation to delve deeply into mobile communications and network analysis. While our background as telecommunications engineers provided a solid foundation, we still had to invest significant time learning about this new field. Even after two or three years, we continue to discover new things in this ever-evolving landscape. New technologies, such as satellite 5G networks (NTN) and 5G Broadcast—which aims to unify broadcast with mobile networks—are constantly emerging. That’s why we designed Hexylon Gamma to ensure users always have an up-to-date device that meets market needs and stays compatible with the latest technological demands.
Thanks to the continuous work of Santiago and our entire team, Gsertel is at the forefront of the ongoing evolution in telecommunications, developing equipment like Hexylon Gamma that revolutionizes the way mobile networks are analyzed.
